Section 543.7
13th, February 2012
Section 607 of the Wiring Regulations has now been replaced by a new set of Wiring Regulations 543.7 “Earthing requirements for the installation of equipment having high protective conductor currents” and applies to all circuits with high earth leakage currents likely to exceed 10mA. With the widespread use of information technology equipment, high leakage currents can be found in all commercial premises and retail outlets utilising IT equipment and high frequency ballasts within light fittings. Wiring Regulations 543.7 gives very specific guidance for dealing with earth leakage currents in a variety of circumstances.
At CMD our highly trained and experienced engineers are fully qualified in all aspects of compliance with these regulations.
