BS6396
All electrical equipment has to conform to British Standards, and at CMD we make sure that all of our electrical equipment conforms to BS6396. This includes all electric power sockets, ensuring that not only do our products look good, they’re completely safe for our customers to use as well.
BS6396 states that electrical equipment and installations must be designed and tested to ensure their safety and to comply with statutory regulations, in particular the “Electricity At Work Regulations”. Relevant British Standards may be used as a means of demonstrating safety and compliance with the regulations. In the case of electrical systems in office furniture and educational furniture the relevant standard for systems connected to the mains supply by means of a 13A plug is BS 6396:2008.
